Common butterflies

Illustrations of each species show: adult butterfly, underwings, caterpillar, pupa, egg and larval food plants. Butterflies are sorted into families by colour.

Freshwater invertebrates

Side 1: shows use of the keys to identify creatures with six legs
Side 2: has keys to identify creatures with none, eight or fourteen legs. Illustrations show both larval and adult stages

Garden & woodland birds

Birds are sorted into families by beak shape. Illustrations of each species show specific identification features and flight silhouette.

Side 1: birds with beaks that are: thin and delicate or hooked
Side 2: birds with beaks that are: long, stout, straight and strong, standard

Land invertebrates

Side 1: shows use of the keys to identify insects
Side 2: is for identifying invertebrates with none, eight, fourteen or more than fourteen legs
