Engaging science activities for kids.

Made you look, made you think, made you talk is full of ideas for science lessons in Key Stage 1. All the activities can be done with cheap household items and minimal preparation time. Gaynor's imaginative approach to science is sure to grab children's attention. Try rescuing space men trapped in ice or improving observation skills with drawing windows. All these science activities for kids help to teach the science curriculum.

Active Assessment.

This book makes assessment for learning in science manageable for young children. Each of the science activities includes key questions to ask and ways to record evidence of thinking and learning. The Active Assessment extension activities combine learning and assessment in the classroom. This builds on the Active Assessment Science book. It has been adjusted for Key Stage 1 children.

    :

This is my ‘go to’ book for EYFS activities (which also find their way into my KS1 courses). The activities themselves are great but the big strength of this book is how they are presented to show the importance of exploring and questioning and how teachers are supporting with assessing and building on the outcomes. One that teachers on courses always want to spend time looking through
