Singapore
The Millgate House Education team organised a study tour for visitors from Singapore, including classroom teachers and people from the Ministry of Education. They wanted to see examples of classroom practice in the UK, as well as finding out more about our projects and resources. Since returning to Singapore they have introduced Concept Cartoons and Active Assessment into many of their schools, and have asked us to go over to train their teachers next year.
Sweden
We recently visited Sweden for the second set of seminars in Stockholm. The purpose of the visit was to train the co-ordinators for NTA, the national primary science project which is used in many schools. The NTA organisers recognise how Millgate House Education projects and resources can support their professional development and help them to move on in their teaching. More seminars are planned.
Norway
Our recent trip to Norway was linked to the Norwegian translation of science Concept Cartoons. The main purpose of the trip was to work at the National Science Education Centre at the University of Oslo, to train the teacher educators who will run CPD courses for Norwegian teachers in how to use Concept Cartoons. All Norwegian teachers will have access to the science Concept Cartoon CD.
