In the Active Assessment resource, thirty two different assessment strategies are illustrated through over 60 activity sheets. Highly interactive versions of the activities are included on the accompanying site licensed CD so that they can be printed out, used on a whiteboard and adapted for new contexts. Concise notes for each strategy explain:
- what the approach is
- how it can be used for assessment
- how can be managed in the classroom
- how it helps with learning
- how it can be customised for use in your own teaching
The Concept Cartoon resources contain 120 Concept Cartoons covering the main areas of science. On the CD every Concept Cartoon comes with background text, written in pupil-friendly language, to suggest possible follow up activities and to explain the science behind the different alternatives.
The posters are highly colourful and contain A3 Concept Cartoons that can be used in lessons, displays and for open evenings.
The Science Questions books are Concept Cartoons specifically designed for 5-8 year olds. The four books contain a total of 16 stories about problems faced by a group of young friends covering all aspects of science. The stories contain a starting point Concept Cartoon, ideas for investigations, background science in child friendly language and extra questions and challenges to extend the activities.
